Hello

I’m Shandi Kano, and I’m a Creative Producer.

Producers are the backbone of any good story or production- we make things happen. We have the network and the know-how and people rely on us to come through, no excuses.

My job is to know the budget and the deliverables, ask all the right questions, recruit and staff all the right crew, know every logistic and every timeline, to project manage in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and be a constant source of guidance on everything any production touches. That takes not just a strong command of video production, but for me, but a laser focus on the creative, the client’s needs, and how to communicate with them. This type of invisible creativity can turn what would be a $50,000, five-day shoot for a brand video, and transform it into a similar idea for $10,000 or vice versa. (I can even wax poetic about video production, see my video tab.)

It’s creative, big-picture project management, and I’ve been lucky to collaborate with incredible teams on things like:

  • Film and commercial video production

  • Commercial photo shoots

  • Experiential marketing

  • Sponsor relationships

  • Event production

  • Branding

It’s a lot. But that's the beauty of what I do: I’m not siloed, and can seamlessly flex between hands-on production, creative concepts, and workflow management. It lets me constantly grow and pursue almost any kind of project. Because the common denominator in all meaningful creative work is the story you’re telling and why you’re telling it.

I’ve been working as a freelance producer for seven years. I started my career at ESPN and the X Games. Thanks for reading. I love what I do, and I’m glad you found me.
